　桃山三の作品は、現代社会の中で生まれる緊張や不安に静かに寄り添い、それらをやわらかくほどいていくことを目指しています。親しみやすい具象表現を通して、見る人の心をゆるめ、日常の中に小さな安らぎと希望をもたらす空間をひらきます。作品は、社会的な問いを内包しながらも、それを対立へと向かわせるのではなく、あたたかく溶かし、再生へと導くイメージへと昇華されています。

　現在は「花兜®」シリーズに注力しています。不安定な時代にあって、花兜®は戦うための装具ではなく、植物の生命力を宿した象徴として構想されています。それは未来世代を守る祈りのかたちであり、傷ついたものを修復し、希望へとつなぐ存在です。花兜®が置かれることで、その場の空気がやわらぎ、人と人とのあいだに静かな共感が広がることを願っています。

　作品には、飛鳥時代に大陸から伝来した仏教思想や吉祥文様、浮世絵に見られる画面構成などの歴史的・文化的要素が重層的に織り込まれています。こうした積み重ねは、植物が土の中で根を張るように、作品に時間と記憶の深みを与え、見る人それぞれの中で新たな意味を育んでいきます。

　さらに桃山三は、2026年に「輝来（きら）の節句」という新しい節目の祝い方を提唱しています。お祝いの日や決意の日、感謝を伝える日など、自らが意味を見いだしたその日を「輝来の節句」と名づけ、人生の転機を自分自身で大切に祝うという提案です。その日のために制作される作品は、現代という時代背景の中でなお希望を見いだそうとする祈りを込めた象徴として存在します。芸術を通して、個人の歩みと未来への願いをやわらかく結び直すことを目指しています。　※「花兜」商標登録番号6724996

Momoyama Soo’s work gently responds to the tensions and anxieties that arise within contemporary society, seeking to soften and gradually release them. Through accessible figurative expression, the artist opens a space where the viewer’s mind can relax, allowing moments of quiet comfort and hope to enter everyday life. While the works hold underlying social questions, they do not move toward confrontation; instead, unease is warmly dissolved and transformed into images that guide the viewer toward renewal.

Currently, Momoyama Soo focuses on the “Hanakabuto®” series. In an unstable era, the Hanakabuto® is conceived not as armor for battle, but as a symbol infused with the vitality of plant life. It represents a prayerful form of protection for future generations—an image that suggests restoration, resilience, and hope. The artist envisions that the presence of Hanakabuto® can soften the atmosphere of a space, quietly fostering empathy and enriching both emotion and daily living.

The works further incorporate layered references to Buddhist thought transmitted to Japan during the Asuka period, auspicious traditional motifs, and compositional structures found in ukiyo-e prints. Like roots extending beneath the soil, these historical and cultural elements give the works depth and continuity, allowing new meanings to grow within each viewer over time.

Furthermore, in 2026, Momoyama Soo originated a new form of marking life’s milestones called “Kira no Sekku.”

It proposes that a personally meaningful day—such as a day of celebration, resolution, or gratitude—be named “Kira no Sekku” and honored as an important turning point in one’s life.

Works created for such occasions exist as symbolic embodiments of prayer, seeking to discover hope even within the complexities of contemporary society.

Through art, Momoyama Soo aims to gently reconnect individual journeys with aspirations for the future.
